MONTROSE AREA MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION – MONTROSE, COLORADO

ENHANCING RETAIL AND SERVING MERCHANTS SINCE 1990

The Retail Sales Enhancement Program was initiated by the Montrose Area Merchants Association, Inc. (then called the Montrose Merchants Committee), proposed to the City Council, and created by Ordinance No. 1410 and defined by Resolution No. 1990-8 of the City of Montrose on August 9, 1990. Through a Service Contract with the City, the Montrose Area Merchants Association, Inc. (MAMA) is responsible for providing programs and activities intended to enhance retail sales in the City of Montrose.

MAMA is funded by a portion of the 3⅓% Vendor Fee credit allowed for sales taxes timely filed by City of Montrose sales tax licensees.  Therefore, MAMA represents ALL sales tax licensees, and ALL sales tax licensees are automatically MAMA members.

A program of work is established by a Board of Directors comprised of seven sales tax licensees, each elected by the members to serve a three-year term.  The Board meets as needed on the second and fourth Tuesdays during the months of February through October, and once during the months of November, December, and January.  Please contact us if you have an interest in filling future Board vacancies or would like additional information about the various MAMA programs.
