In general, the objectives of the Advertising Committee are to create an annual advertising calendar, research potential regional advertising projects, set criteria for a Retailer of the Year Award program, identify an annual direct mail project, and assess the effectiveness and need for changes in the cooperative advertising program in accordance with the MAMA mission and vision.  The Committee meets as needed.

Governance Committee

In general, the objective of the Governance Committee is to:  ensure the perpetuity, sustainability, orientation, and training of the Board of Directors, standing committees, and sub committees; and to create the annual budget, perform ongoing reviews of the budget, review monthly financial reports, and ensure sufficient policies and safeguards for proper handling of all corporation funds and assets in accordance with the MAMA mission and vision.  The Committee meets as needed.

In general, the objective of the Outreach Committee is to identify and coordinate programs and activities that have an external focus with the goal of communicating the MAMA mission and vision, recruiting new members, educating current members and working with local government and the community at large.  The Committee meets as needed.

MAMA has collaborated with the Visitors & Convention Bureau to create a Joint Event Support funding program, which includes a single application.  Applications will be judged competitively.  Events that best demonstrate the ability to achieve the MAMA and/or VCB Missions will be given preference.  Non-profit events will be given preference. Commercial events and events that have received Event Support funding for three years will receive secondary consideration, except in years of event expansion or improvement.  Applicants are encouraged to seek funding from multiple sources.  Applicants will present, and applications will be reviewed quarterly by the Joint Funding Review Committee at their meetings the first week of February, April, July, and October.  Applications are due by January 31, March 31, June 30, and September 30 and not less than 60 days prior to the event date.             

It is the objective of Main in Motion to encourage and promote the economic growth of downtown businesses by providing creative outlets for artists and musicians in a family-oriented environment.  The Committee meets as needed.

In March 2008, MAMA created a Downtown Standing Committee.  This newly-formed Committee holds monthly meetings at Amazing Glaze (219 East Main Street) on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m.

In September 2008, MAMA created a South Merchant Standing Committee.  This newly-formed Committee holds monthly meetings at Heidi's Brooklyn Deli on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m.
