MONTROSE AREA MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION – MONTROSE, COLORADO ENHANCING RETAIL AND SERVING MERCHANTS SINCE 1990 2009 Event Support Program Applications Now Available! The Montrose Area Merchants Association is accepting applications for the 2009 MAMA/VCB Joint Event Support Program. The Program purpose is to provide seed money for new events, fund existing events that are growing or expanding, and enhance existing events that will draw spectators and participants from our region (a 90-mile radius). Funding is in the form of advertising or MAMA Bucks. Applications will be judged competitively. Preference will be given to those nonprofit events that demonstrate the greatest potential to promote new retail sales in Montrose and the ability to achieve the MAMA mission to promote Montrose as a destination. This year, our Event Support Program is a joint venture with the Visitors & Convention Bureau, and some of the parameters have been changed. Applications will be processed quarterly and will be due on January 31, March 31, June 30, and September 30 for review in February, April, July, and October.
